BREAST REDUCTION

DAY ADMISSION OR 1 DAY HOSPITALIZATION

FULL ANAESTHETIC

RECOVERY TIME 3-6 WEEKS

A breast reduction restores shape, volume and firmness to proportion. Over time, breasts can change. Breasts that are too large may be present early on but may also develop because of weight gain or hormonal changes. Breasts that are too large can lead to physical problems ranging from neck pain to skin irritation under the inframammary fold. A breast reduction is a very rewarding procedure where the patient will notice immediate improvement or disappearance of physical complaints. With a breast reduction, the breast is also lifted immediately.

Permanently unless one fluctuates greatly in weight, then the breasts will change in volume along with it if they are "fatty breasts" (proportion of fat large compared to the glandular tissue). Fatty breasts also tend to sag faster than glandular breasts.
