Protruding ears are usually a congenital defect in which usually the ear crease (anthelix) is not sufficiently developed or the ear bowl (conga) is too large.
The procedure is done through an incision behind the auricle from which the auricular cartilage is remodeled using wires. The usually badly formed "anthelix" fold is formed and the "concha" is fixed backwards in a natural way.
