Lipofilling involves removing excess fat from a specific area (e.g., abdomen, inner thighs), treating it to its purest form and re-injecting it where necessary. This technique is frequently used to correct loss of volume in the face. For breast augmentation in combination with an implant it has proven its added value.

Since this is the body's own tissue, it should be perfused. Approximately 40-50% of the injected fat will be gone after 3 months. The remaining fat remains permanently and will behave like fat elsewhere in the body.
